Thanks I love making them! As for the paper? It's funny- I use the standard, crappy, strathmore sketchpads to sketch and paint in- when I buy fancy watercolor paper, I get too nervous about it to actually sketch freely
Do you tend to work in the watercolour first then add pen on top or create a sketch and add colour? Been trying to work it out from the artwork but it's a tough one. You've reminded me how to show such complex shapes with just a splash of shade and a few guidelines, one of my favourite styles of drawing!
Sir, you have very nearly convinced me to attempt watercolor again. You've told me I should, but I keep wavering. Then I see more of these, and it just looks like it must be fun. WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME.
What a lovely thing to do when you go walking somewhere (or biking), this is worth millions of photographs ! The fact that you made your studies monochromatic makes them great as well as the genuine and spontaneous feeling they convey : when I see it, I want to do the same as it looks simple when you do it, even if it's actually not
