Do you tend to work in the watercolour first then add pen on top or create a sketch and add colour? Been trying to work it out from the artwork but it's a tough one. You've reminded me how to show such complex shapes with just a splash of shade and a few guidelines, one of my favourite styles of drawing!

I do the sketch in pen first, always, and then go in to add the watercolor washes :)

Ah yeah- I know! I've been using bic ballpoints of a certain type and they never smear with the watercolor!

Sir, you have very nearly convinced me to attempt watercolor again. You've told me I should, but I keep wavering. Then I see more of these, and it just looks like it must be fun. WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME. ;)
