wow...dunno where that came from! POTTER BOOK 7 SPOILERS

so...start with the beginnings of an obession, and countless (read: MANY) hours you have it! Since long-fromat scroll comics seem to be all the rage (I happen to love them!) I thought I'd try my hand!
I have been SO excited about this project...I know it's a short read, but seriously, this is probably the most ambitious thing I've ever done art-work-wise that hasn't been assigned to me...thanks, RISD! (this is what I now do with my summer vacation :p) Anyways I LOVED the Grindelwald/Albus sub-plot in book 7, and I had to give this a shot at least, I just didn't think I'd actually DO it :)
As usual, I could go on for ages, but I'll try to keep it brief. I've been tossing this back and forth with [link] for a week or two now, just to bounce concepts around, and it evolved from there. It's really the first time I've taken a comic of any size all the way from concept to competion since I was, like...12.
The verdict: I may actually really love doing comics!

ballpoint and photoshop...written, drawn, and colored by me, characters etc obviously JK Rowling's!

(To everyone who's commented and all the people who've fav'd this: THANK YOU! You're awesome! I'm so happy people are enjoying the piece :))

Harry Potter, '1945' by ~homarusrex : From the suggester, "I couldn't look away. There was so much movement in each of the frames that I thought I could actually see the images moving. The colours just drew me in and held me there and when I scrolled to the end, it was like waking up from one of those extremely vivid dreams, like turning off the TV in the middle of the biggest scenes in the show. The amount of detail put into this is so AMAZING: from the shapes of the faces, to the shadows on the wall, to the feeling elicited from every line and colour. It all seems so complicated yet at the same time, so simple. You could write a thousand stories just using this picture and I'm sure this could inspire even J.K. Rowling herself to put out a graphic novel with drawings like these!" Phew. I think she said it all! ( Suggested by KaySmith--All-4-IRIS and Featured by aunjuli )

damn I love ginger dumbledore
Oh my. This is so amazing. I have no idea why I didn't favorite it the first time I saw it, but I am now! I really love the facial expressions espeacially; they portray their emotions so well! Keep doing what you do, because you are amazing at it!
Oh, my, I can't believe I hadn't gotten that one for my favourites! I spotted it months ago, but it must have slipped my mind. It is AWESOME!

Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, Please, you need to continue that one! The Duel shoud be epic!!!!

Beyond the art, that is gorgeous, the composition, the whole scene just encloses everything that must have been the Dumbledore / Grindelwald relationship at that time! Perfect!
We need more of that!!!
Also, what an exciting game of 'count the dark marks'
Bravo, bravo
Why albus's wand is so little?
Quite literally my favorite Harry Potter artwork, still! Bravo.
it's interesting how the way J.K Rowling set up Dumbledore and Grindlewand's story is that a kid would have thought that gellert was simply a friend who misused Albus' trust, while a while-versed person  could see that Dumbledore loved him.

Wow, this is fascinating, really. It's amazingly made, I love the small details you inserted. Gellert speaking German, the room, the environment. And especially Albus Dumbledore's face when he talks about Arianna. The pain seems so.... Real.

I am actually writing a fanfic about Dumbledore and Gellert's younger days (in particular that fateful summer) and a fast forward to their adult selves - to the point of the duel, and this work of art is such a huge inspiration!
