The official Inaugural piece of my Spring semester. The beginning of the end! Yikes!
This semester I am in a book cover illustration class taught by the great Jon Foster himself...I've been waiting to take this class since I got here in freshman year and it's really neat to be finally doing it!
This week we were assigned to do a cover illustration for Benjamin Franklin's biography.
I came in with a variety of sketches in a slightly more serious bent, and he just kind of dug the turkey-gazing-into-the-future angle. So, I did it! And he liked it!
It's very silly, but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out...especially given the crunch I was under with this deadline (my own fault entirely). I was up...late.
Bla Bla Bla...more chatter, sketches and news on my blog:
[link]Enjoy!
PS:
It occurs to me that some people may not know what the crap this is about! Ben Franklin actually championed the Turkey for the US national bird as opposed to the eagle. He didn't like the warlike connotations and thought turkeys were very noble birds. history! yay!
