The first piece of 2009! This was supposed to be a quick little assignment, but it got a little ambitious. It's for my Wintersession class, Monster (we talk about monsters): We were assigned to do a piece about Beauty vs. Revulsion...I went off on a "glowing frogs in cages would be neat" tangent, and here we are. Aren't glowing frogs-in-birdcages neat? That's the thing about being an artist under a deadline...even your most delirious whims can be transformed into sleepless hours of wrist-ache It's really a pretty slapped-together effort...for what it is, I'm very pleased with it. But now I am in need of some sleep. It's good to get a little work done again; I've been feeling very unproductive lately! Hopefully this will help shake me out of vacation. For now, I really hope you enjoy it! Hopefully there will be plenty more work to come this new year.
As usual, very soon there will be more info, sketches, and chatter at my blog: [link]
Excellent lighting and palette! And concept! I have solar-powered frog lights in the yard, but not quite like yours- who wouldn't want a froggy like these? !
The site is down for maintenance? I can't see any usage of my work, or any site for that matter. If this is the case, I'm really thankful you brought it to my attention!
i am trying to find the original PDF with the files included. they scrubbed the original one after people wanted revenge. the site is up and running and i will send you the pdf once i find it
Where can I buy a glowing frog in a cage? They're neat. I love the mood in this picture and that it's so whimsical. Thanks for posting your sleepless hours of wrist-ache for us to enjoy!
I would like you to be aware that a company [link] is stealing your artwork, and I suspect it may be without permission.
